LOCAL PARENTS: TIME TO CLAIM YOUR 09 EDUCATION TAX REFUND |

Federal Member for Oxley, Bernie Ripoll has reminded parents of school children in the Western Corridor that they can now start claiming the Education Tax Refund for eligible education spending during the 2008-09 financial year.
“Parents will now be able to claim the refund from 1 July 2009 for the 2008-09 financial year which means you could get 50% back on a range of primary and secondary school education expenses.
“Just remember to keep your receipts as they will help you calculate your entitlement and you may be required to produce them as proof of purchase” Mr Ripoll said.

Tax Refund in the last election campaign to provide parents with much-needed help for education expenses.
“Refunds of up to $375 per primary school student and $750 per secondary school student are available for those that are eligible for Family Tax Benefit A.
“If you think you are eligible and have purchased items such as computers, textbooks and stationery from July 1 last year, don’t forget to claim them at item T6 in your next tax return” Mr Ripoll said.
